The Morning Series: November 20th
It has been quite a week here and I felt like all I could do was be silent while I wrapped my head around it all. There was only one day that I sat down in the morning to sketch because Monday was the only day that my routine allowed for it. We're experiencing chaos on all different levels currently—the world, our lives, our flat. I wont go into much detail on the later two subjects as they seem so little compared to the bigger issues happening across the globe.
While there are many negative events going on around the world, the Paris attack really hit home for me. I woke up Saturday morning sad. And quite honestly, feeling like the first time my hope and positivity were being ripped out of me. Through most of the week there has been that continued tugging of sadness and, to be quite honest, numerous let downs by the words being expressed by others across social media.
I don't have the answers on how to fix everything but there is something that is very clear. We need to educate ourselves. We must learn about each other, dig into each others past, remember our own pasts, and keep up to date on the current issues. Ignorance should no longer be tolerated if we are aiming to live in a world of peace. Education is the key—it's our key—and it should be the backbone of anything we do as we move forward from this.
I hope everyone has a safe, peaceful, and loving weekend. Spend some extra time with your loved ones. Get out and explore somewhere new. Read a good book. Sit by a cozy fire. Make some hot chocolate. Watch a movie. Whatever it is—do something that is good for your soul.
