2015 Sea of Atlas Travel Recap
There is no doubt that 2015 was a wild year for us. Back in February we made the leap across the pond from Boston to London to fulfill our dream of living abroad and traveling through Europe. We gave away and donated almost all of our belongings leaving behind only a stack of boxes in our small storage unit. This was our chance to get rid of everything unnecessary and live intentionally for adventure, not things. With us we only brought clothes and a few valuables to start the next chapter of our lives.
Since the move, the travel bug (if it hadn't already) finally got its hold on us for good. And from there we ran wild. It has been so much fun being able to share our journey with all of you so I thought it would be cool to look back on some of our trips that we have posted about on our journal here and to give you a peak at some 2015 trips that are still making their way from memories to words. Enjoy the adventure!
Paris, France • April 3 to April 6, 2015
Paris was our first trip after our move and one that I will never forget. There is magic in this city and it comes in the form of crepes...just kidding. We did everything from cruising down the Seine to climbing to the top of the Arc de Triomphe. My favorite part though was wandering through the quaint streets and seeing the locals at the corner coffee shops. Its hard not to fall in love.
Copenhagen, Denmark • May 2 TO May 5, 2015
Copenhagen, Copenhagen, how I love thee. The city is a designers dream with gorgeous clean lines combining with beautiful historic character. I could have stayed here forever and especially inside the Rundetårn or by Nyhavn watching the boats come in and out.
Slovenia & Croatia Road Trip • May 23 to May 31, 2015
This trip was our first real full out adventure. After our flight over, we hit the road driving through the beautiful mountains, lakes, and along the coast. We felt alive here and completely fell in love with Rovinj, Croatia. My favorite memory was watching the sunset every night from the rocky coast while we reflected on the days explorations. The trip provided a perfect mix of on the go travel and the relaxation of a true vacation.
Edinburgh, Scotland • December 3 TO December 6, 2015
Earlier this month we decided to head to Edinburgh last minute (we keep getting sick about waiting until Spring again to travel...its a real problem). I couldn't have imagined how stunning this city was going to be and it actually reminded us a lot of our old Boston roots. Edinburgh is rich in history and character but my favorite part is the size—large enough to have plenty to do but small enough to feel cozy and at home. Going during the holiday season added on some extra charm and its safe to say we will definitely be returning!
More trip stories from 2015 yet to be told! Okay...I must admit, time got the best of me during the second half of the year but I still have every intention of sharing these travels with you throughout the next few months before we dive into the 2016 travel season. In June we went to Belgium and the Greek Islands and in the later part of the summer we found ourselves exploring the Lake District and meeting family in the South of France. It was a full year with lots of new places to check off our never-ending wanderlust list.
Belgium • June 11 TO June 14, 2015
The Greek ISlands • June 20 TO June 28, 2015
England's Lake District • August 13 TO August 16, 2015
THe SOuth of France • August 29 TO September 6, 2015
2015 was one for the books and I can not wait to see where our 2016 adventures will bring us!
