Ginger & Me

We returned to London on Monday morning after a week in the States celebrating Christmas with our families. Trips back home are always bittersweet but while we were there, we made sure to take advantage of our time by being around our families (and pets) as much as possible. Every so often we had some time to sneak away and hit up some old favorites though. I absolutely love driving around New Hampshire & Maine. We have so many good memories in those states from our childhood and within our relationship. Driving over the Piscataqua River Bridge instantly makes me feel a sense of peace and belonging.

I also love showing Rico old spots my family used to visit during our summer vacations. Little did we know how close we were while I was up in York with my family and he was only one town over. A place we now seem to frequent after visiting it together just a couple years ago is the Wiggly Bridge. As kids, my siblings and I used to go swim here every so often when we needed a change from the beach. We would ride the current under the bridge and loop back around over and over again. It was the best!

Another favorite must-do is going to Flatbread in Portsmouth. Hands down the best pizza (and brownie sundae) I have ever had. And I've had a lot of pizza. Its one of our constant cravings we have while here in London. The restaurant has several locations across the US and Canada (we've been to 8...no shame) but the Portsmouth location gets it all just right. It is. SO. Good. We made sure to stop by there a couple of times to fill our bellies.

Okay...enough about pizza! My mouth is now watering. Being home in New England was the absolute best way to end 2015 and we look forward to the adventures 2016 will bring!

Hope you all had lovely holidays! We would love to hear about them—where did you go? Do you have any hometown favorite places you always go back to?
