Weekend Scenes: May 9th & 10th
The weather in London this weekend brought everyone out. While we spent Saturday decompressing from the week, Sunday was a different story as we decided it was time to finally make our way to the Columbia Road Flower Market. Ever since we found out we’d be moving here, we have been adding things to do in the city to an ever-growing list and this one was of them. There were so many beautiful flowers and plants to admire while strolling along the market and street performers’ music poured in from every direction. The pedestrian traffic was shoulder to shoulder and there was so much energy as vendors shouted out their bargains and customers reached out their arms to pay for and grab their goods. We ended up with three new little succulents to place around our new home. Having plants was something we missed since moving here and we just hadn't gotten around to buying some. They add such a nice touch and bring life into the place.
We also stopped into Rob Ryan's shop as we made our way through the market. We fell completely in love with one of his pieces that reads "I always said that I'd do anything for you, now you know I meant it. There isn't a sea wide enough that I wouldn't cross to be with you again." It made us think of our move over here and the support we have given to each other through this journey. We ended up buying a screen printed scarf of the design to hang above our bed.
All that hard work of looking at beautiful flowers and art worked up our appetites so on our way home we stopped into Tramshed. Our original plan was to head back to our neighborhood to grab a bite but we caught this place out of the corner of our eye. It did not disappoint, and of course, we had to finish the meal off with some sweets!
It was a refreshing weekend just getting to hang around London after being away last weekend in Copenhagen. We have a couple more weeks until we are off on a road trip around Croatia and Slovenia. In the meantime I'll be working hard at getting some wedding invitations to the printer as well as getting back into painting! I can't wait to get my hands covered in paint again. It has been too long!
I hope everyone has a lovely week and enjoys the blues skies!
