Peter Reynolds Photography: Branding Mood Board
A few months back, Peter and I began his rebranding journey. As a wedding photographer from England, he wanted a brand that told his story and connected to his clients. I loved hearing about Peter's adventures through life and the passion he has for his work—its apparent through his photographs as well the encouraging words constantly flowing out on social media. If you are looking for a guy that is going to be 110 percent there for you as a photographer and be beyond excited for your journey, Peter is your guy.
After chatting and learning about Peter it was clear that besides his immense passion for his job, he had a longing for nature—the trekking through the great outdoors with the tall pines overhead. Through our conversations on email and phone, I knew we were the perfect fit to work on his logo together.
As a push to continuing to be more transparent about what goes on here at the studio, I thought it would be fitting to share the process of branding Peter Reynolds Photography. As all my branding projects do, we started by creating a mood board. Peter and I worked together to curate a collection of inspirational images as a base for his brand. The more I work as on branding, the more I realize just how important this stage is. Further along in the process it is the best tool to look back on to reflect if the logo has headed on the right path. Peter's mood board pulls from strong natural textures—like grains and leaves—holds a powerful vintage feel, and what is most exciting to me is that his story and brand had a strong desire to be fully handmade.
In the coming days we will be sharing the sketches and drafts AND we will reveal his final logo! I can't wait for you all to see what we have created as a visual for his story.
